How can people with disabilities be integrated into the labor market?

The students explored this question in this practice-oriented course in the summer semesters of 2022, 2023 and 2024. They developed sustainable and/or social business ideas on this topic in order to achieve a social impact. In the workshops, the students were given the necessary tools and applications and received regular coaching until the final team pitch.

The aim was to give students the opportunity to address important social challenges and learn how to use entrepreneurial methods to develop solutions.

Curious about the inspiring business ideas for more inclusion from our past semesters? Here you can get a comprehensive insight into the “Mission: Inclusion” format.

Think Tank InclusionHide

The “Inclusion Think Tank” forms the central starting point of our program. In the workshop, people from the (social) economy and society have the opportunity to share their real challenges in the field of inclusive working environments. These diverse perspectives are translated into concrete, practice-relevant challenges that serve as a working basis for the students during the semester and for developing ideas.

Inclusion in practiceHide

In the practical impulse, we deepen our understanding of the identified challenges. Through an interactive concept, practice partners and students network, supported by experts from the field of inclusion. Together, we discuss the obstacles to an inclusive working world that we have already uncovered in the think tank. In this way, we lay the foundation for the sustainable development of solutions.

A deep understanding of these challenges is crucial in order to develop sustainable solutions that can bring about positive change in the long term.

The added value for students: We lay the foundation for the working phase of the student teams. The students benefit from direct contact with the practice partners.

The added value for the practice partners: They benefit from direct exchange with like-minded people, expand their network and come into direct contact with the student teams. This gives you an insight into the idea development process right from the start and allows you to be part of it.

Working phaseHide
Arbeitsphase

After the practical impulse, the student teams enter the work phase (April to June). Here they are provided with input on social entrepreneurship in seminars and learn methods for developing ideas. Their task is to develop solution ideas for the identified problems, supported by practice partners as experts (e.g. as interview partners).

Pitch Final Inclusion Hide
Pitchfinale

In the pitch final, the student teams present their ideas and receive feedback from practice partners and interested parties. This final not only marks the end of the program, but also the beginning of the transfer of ideas into practice. Here, students and practice partners have the unique opportunity to be inspired by creative solutions and at the same time to hold initial discussions on the implementation of the ideas.

NEW Workshop Venture Boots Hide

The Venture Boost format focuses on the targeted promotion of start-up potential. At the pitch final, the practice partners nominated two teams for the first time to further develop their ideas as part of intensive coaching. The “able” and “Perspektivwechsel” teams, accompanied by Dr. Christian Frühwald and Dorit Lütgenau (inclou. GmbH & Co. KG | Unternehmensberatung in der
(social) economy) and Sebastian Gillsch (RSV Bayreuth, state coach for wheelchair basketball/ Bavarian Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association) identified starting points and measures for the market realization of their ideas. Together, concrete implementation strategies and the next steps were defined in order to successfully put the ideas into practice.

With the Venture Boost, the “Mission: Inclusion” format was supplemented and further developed with a key component. This expansion makes it possible not only to support the teams in developing ideas, but also to accompany them in the next step of putting their ideas into practice. This significantly increases the likelihood of implementation and innovative inclusion projects can be put into practice in a targeted manner.
